Acceptable Use Policy
The rules of the road for restaurant operators on Vendo. Violations escalate from written notice to suspension to termination.
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to every restaurant operator who subscribes to Vendo and to every staff member who acts under that account. It supplements the Terms of Service and is enforced alongside it.
2. Permitted use
You may use Vendo to:
- operate a legitimate food service business;
- manage menus, orders, staff accounts, and customer records;
- upload original content — photographs, logos, descriptions, and branding you created or are licensed to use;
- access analytics and reports for your own restaurant;
- export your own data in standard formats at any time;
- integrate with services we explicitly support through documented features.
3. Prohibited use
You may not use Vendo to:
- conduct any illegal activity, or facilitate one;
- upload content that infringes another party's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights;
- upload malicious code, viruses, or any content intended to damage the platform or other users;
- attempt to access another tenant's data, accounts, or systems;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the platform;
- resell, sublicense, or share your account access with anyone outside your own restaurant staff;
- store data the platform was not designed for — Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, full payment card numbers, biometric data;
- send unsolicited marketing to your customers beyond the transactional, order-related communications the platform is built to send (in other words, no spam);
- sell, rent, or share your customer data with third parties;
- misrepresent the origin of food — for example, listing items prepared in a different kitchen as your own;
- use the platform to facilitate discrimination against customers or staff;
- interfere with the operation of the platform or with other users' access;
- generate usage patterns that materially degrade service for other tenants — automated load testing, scraping at scale, abusive API patterns.
4. Enforcement
How we handle violations:
- First non-critical violation. Written notice and a 7-day cure period.
- Second violation, or failure to cure. Account suspension with notice.
- Critical violations — illegal activity, attacks on platform security, or breaches that put other tenants at risk — result in immediate suspension without prior notice.
- Termination follows the process in the Terms of Service.
We may remove content that violates this policy without prior notice.
5. Reporting violations
To report a violation by another operator — for example, content that infringes your work — email legal@vendo.pizza. For copyright takedowns specifically, follow the procedure in the DMCA Policy.
6. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes are announced with at least 30 days' notice and follow the same modification process as the Terms of Service.
